20 years after winning the Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Single, JT Money is back with new music. His new album, "OG Perspective" will be released on September 14th, and we were able to get a sneak stream. And good things come to those who wait!
Amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic and protests condemning racial injustice and police shootings of unarmed black people (most recently, Jacob Blake, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd), JT Money has seemingly used these happenings and the time cooped up in the house as an opportunity for creativity.
The Miami native first came to prominence after working with producer Tricky Stewart and releasing the hot song, "Who Dat" as the lead single on from Money's debut album, Pimpin' on Wax. It features a verse from rapper Solé. The song hit #1 on Billboard Hot Rap Singles, and reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making JT Money a bonafide Top 40 artist.
For "OG Perspective", JT executive produced the project himself. He worked with A&R Jemael "Breeze" Bazile and has compiled a collection of 13 dope songs that spit knowledge he's gained from his 25+ years in the rap game. At 47, JT Money is a hip-hop pioneer and certified OG. And we at The Weekly Beat, can't wait for the album to drop!
