Devon B Drops Dope Hip Hop Project -- "Fresh Man Year"

Devon B is a 21 year old rap artist.  He grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, a suburban area located on the outskirts of Philadelphia. Like many black folk, he also spent a good bit of his time in the South, "I also spent a good period of my life down South Carolina I reference this in a couple lines in the album." And the album is dope in so many ways because of his unique upbringing. The ten track project, "Fresh-Man Year" has the sound of 90s Diddy-bop.

Standout tracks include Top Prospects 2, A Childs Hood 4, Fresh Man Year: March Madness. You'll wanna add these to your Spotify plalylist.

My favorite track on the album is Neutral Spirit. If also features the vocal talent of Sashea. With its combination of Devon B's bars and Sashea's soulful female vocals, the song reminds me of a K. Michelle tune.  But Devon B's style cannot be easily categorized. One things is clear: Devon B's creative curation of songs on "Fresh-Man Year" showcases his skills as a musician and an emcee.

"I can't social media this like these niggas"

What artists inspired your sound?
I grew up hearing a lot of underground Philly rap watching come-ups like Meek Mill, PNB Rock, watching the innovation of club music to Philly party music. I think all that plays a big role in my style along with being down South. It allowed me to explore more music before I was even serious about it... so I got I lil southern swag.

What role does Philly play in your music?
Philly played a big role in my sound. They say Philly home of some of the best spittas.

Whats your dream collab?
My dream collab is hard ... Its a lot of artist I think I could cook wit. But I’m tryna do a song wit' Justin Bieber ... that jawn would be fire!
