Rapper, Singer-Songwriter Juśtin Drops Dope Hip-Hop Project, 'XII'

19 year old up-and-coming rapper/singer-songwriter Juśtin, recently dropped a new project entitled XII. With the year winding down, I'm finally getting a chance to clean-out my inbox and I almost deleted a submission by this youngin. Boy am I glad I caught this.

Released on December 9th, Juśtin's new album shows off his vocal range and ability; he has the ability to seamlessly float between his full and head voice while keeping a soulful essence throughout the album. But he doesn't stop at singing. As an emcee, he shine in  "Kings Rd.", a track that talks about his past, his future, and his mission to his "God on the map."  His sound (especially in this song) reminds me of Chance the Rapper.

Other songs that standout for me are "7Even", "My God" and  "Sacrifices". Juśtin does a lot of reflection and opening up on this project. Its as unique as his name, and he's definitely an artist to add to your playlist. And you won't be alone. He averages more than 10K monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

"Them A&Rs was skipping on my shit like a CD"

Born Justin Elijah D’Anthony Reid, but professionally known as Juśtin, he was raised in Conyers, Georgia, but would later relocate to Jacksonville, Florida in his early teenage years. He's always had a passion for music;  he graduated from the multiple Grammy awarded arts high school, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.

"She the queen and I'm the choker."

One of the dopest moments for Juśtin came when he went viral after his musical talents and creativity got him featured on the hugely popular blog, The Shade Room. Juśtin asked his girlfriend to prom by conducting a band and choir to sing a cover of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely". The video reached over 2 million views in less the 2 days, receiving praise from a number of respected names in the music industry such as Jagged Edge (American group) and Kandi Burruss. This was enough to convince him to pursue music seriously.

"Senorita Senorita, might go platinum with your features."

Around the age of 15, Justin would perform at school as well as multiple amateur singing and art competitions under the stage name “Justin Time” which would then be changed to Justin Time The Rookie after the release of his first album,
Seasons of 12. He would then go on to change his name to Juśtin following his most successful album, Rookie 2 King.
