NYC Rapper, ReachingNOVA Releases New Track, 'C'est La Vie'

Mark Anthony Nieves, known professionally as ReachingNOVA, is a 34 year old rapper, songwriter, label executive, businessman, and record producer.  His sound is most definitely influenced by his upbringing-- he's from the birthplace of hip hop-- The Boogie Down Bronx, New York City's northernmost borough.

His music echoes the lush melodies of contemporary rap, with the punch and the lyrical honesty of the “Golden Age” - yet, he is true to self in every sense when it comes to laying his soul in music.

With a focus on thoughtful lyrics over mood fueling instrumentals, ReachingNOVA creates songs with a smooth yet versatile lyrical flow, following in the footsteps of some of the greatest rap storytellers of all generations - from KRS ONE to Biggie Smalls, JAY - Z or Drake, but he's also really inspired by people such as LeBron James, Michael Jackson, and Anthony Robbins.

His new song, entitled "C'est La Vie", is a romantic hip hop track that has the allure of early LL Cool J and modern day Drake. The beat, with new age drill and trap elements is crazy. Nova's flow is real chill, while his crispy delivery contains a rhythmic energy that makes the song's lyrics easy to digest, and audibly engaging.

"I remember that moment like it was yesterday. Last six years, I been going hard on my resume."

ReachingNOVA’s released his solo-debut album, “It's About Time”, back  in 2016 which featured  the track, “World So Empty” featuring  Dave East.  After getting some international streaming attention, he hit the studio and bounced back with his second solo album in 2017, “It Was What It Was”.

In 2018 and 2019 ReachingNOVA dropped a number of singles from "The Meditation", to “Far From Easy”, to other collaborative projects such as "Keep Rollin" and the “NYC New Wave Cypher: VOL. 1”. From Trap type slappers such as "Steady on a Forward", “The Message”, and “Been There Done That”, to grittier tunes like "Cash's Rap (Part 1)", and even softer in depth personal songs like “Gone”, “September 18th”, and “Soul Tap”.

In 2020, ReachingNOVA & Teemonee released a collaborative six song album entitled “LEGENDS”, and late last year, he dropped 'UNI" a dope track that features a nice Sade sample. His respect for the craft is evident, and his ability to keep pushing out dope sounding classic rap music is refreshing. Check out "C'est La Vie" and his entire body of work on the links below...
