RAP SPOTLIGHT: Zigg TheArtist Drops 'Toxic' Album

They call Philly the "City of Brotherly Love", but it also has a healthy hip hop scene that has been a breeding ground for dope, groundbreaking rappers like Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, and more recently, to big names like Meek Mill and Lil Uzi Vert. Today, we're doing a rap spotlight on a Philadelphia artist that is making his own musical impact on rap music.

It’s rare to find an artist with both age and wisdom on his side, but Jaron Grant, better known as Zigg The Artist, is literally that guy. He's a multi-talented hip-hop artist who recently released his first project of 2021 entitled “Toxic”.

This album is led by singles Baynton  and I Still Love You. But there are some other gems on the 16 track album including None of the Smoke.  On the track, Zigg mixes trap and rock vibes on the beat as he spits some fire lyrics, "and now I just stay in my place, cuz if I react, I'm catching a case." You can also hear the influence of Lil Wayne in his flow, who happens to be one of his credited musical influences. He also f*cks with Biggie, Neyo, and Michael Jackson.

Listening to "Toxic", you can tell he has put in the work. He has a free flow structure that takes experience and confidence to master. With his melodic rap style, Zigg has been quoted saying he believes this album deserves a Grammy. He definitely has the creativity and drive necessary to accomplish that goal and we believe this project has the teeth to gain that traction.
