PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT: From VA to LA, Uriah is a Producer on the Rise


Uriah is a music producer who is making fresh, innovative sounds as he carves out his mark in a competitive industry. But the former athlete has no problem finding his was to the winner's circle. 
He has millions of streams and has produced over 20 albums in 2020 for Virginia artists. Now he has released his "Prod by Uriah" playlist, a collection of his production hits by Virginia based artists. The dope playlist project is full of radio quality tracks mostly set to trap beats.  His beats perfectly balance the high hats and the bass to keep listeners' ears happy; and his varied, curated collection of hits shows the depth of his talent.

Born Uriah Dickerson, he was raised in Hampton Roads, Virginia, region includes the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. Growing up, he lived in every city in the Tidewater area but mainly grew up in Suffolk. While in Suffolk he was mainly into sports, and the he later grew a passion for music, becoming a producer.  

He is most known for producing the trap conscious hit song, “Basketball” by ShaiVa. Now he's out in Los Angles working with various artists and expanding the Virginia music scene.


TWB: How did you jump into music production?

URIAH: A high school friend of mine recommended that I start making beats. I made a couple and posted them on SoundCloud... then artists started hitting me up for beats. From then on, my passion grew.

TWB: Who were you listening to growing up?

URIAH: Kanye West, Outkast, Clipse, Young Money Yawn.

URIAH: Mozzy, No Cap, Polo G

TWB: How did you end up in LA? What are you working on there?

URIAH: I got a great opportunity to run a studio and record with various artists.
