It's often a struggle for artists from other countries--especially hip hop artists--to get a break in America. Ya'll know I love underground French rap, and while the UK's drill scene has made a far reaching impact, most American hip hop heads would probably scratch their heads (but then bop them) if I played HP Boyz or Lisi. Truth is, the Australian rap scene has been up-and-coming for a while now, so its time to ante up.
Last week, I heard this dope song by two with a sick drill-type beat. The energy it gave was like a mix of DMX and Pop Smoke. As a former Epic Records A&R and self-proclaimed a hip hop tastemaker, I like to put folk on to whats hot in the streets. So, when I found out that Aztec Flow had dropped the official video for his new single, Vertigo, I had to share it with my readers. You can check it out below...
I love when he spits, "I'm an asshole like Dirty Harry. You mad at everything, like Tyler Perry." Aztec Flow is more than just an artist. The 24 year old produced, mixed, and mastered the track as well. Vertigo also features Atahan, another 24 year old rapper who lays down some heavy hitting bars on the single. He raps, "I took a shot, almost burned myself. And we made it click, and it went bang."
Both emcees are straight outta Australia, but their sound is universally hip hop. I really dig their sound and finesse.
"I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. One flash of light, and you're dead."Both artists are signed to Tical Records and also have solo albums dropping next year.

It's starting to go back to that period when I always feel guilty, so I read the blog on this site https://us.calmerry.com/blog/self-esteem/why-do-i-feel-guilty-for-no-reason/, what to do about it, there is a great online therapy with good therapists, which is a plus.
