Last year, we introduced you to South Florida rapper, Lazy2Real also known as "Crazy Lazy". We recently caught up with him to learn more about his creative process, his upcoming mixtape, and the music video for his banger, Get Money. The music video was directed by Wesley D.
How did you get started?
I started making music at the age of 15. My friend, Jamal introduced me into music at his home studio. After watching him create amazing songs, he told me to give it a shot. And once I heard my voice, I never looked back.
Where are you from?
I’m from Deerfield Beach, Florida.
What was your upbringing like?
My upbringing wasn’t too bad. I grew up in a two parent household, played sports, got in some trouble...very typical growing up in my neighborhood.
How do you think that has shaped you as an artist?
Well, I’m still developing as an artist...still learning the game, but I definitely can say that it’s taught me to stand strong mentally because it’s a heavy load on artists.
Who are your musical influences?
Tupac, Biggie, 50 Cent, Jeezy, Dolph, Gucci... and plenty more.
What does your creative process look like?
Well, once I hear the beat, I’ll feel out the beat first and I’ll get to writing how I feel at the moment.
Dream Collab?
Michael Jackson. That’ll be something special...he’s definitely a mogul.
Yeah, that would be magical lol. Whats your favorite thing to do when not making music?
I coach for a local football team. I love giving time back to my community--especially to the younger generation, giving them knowledge, morals & principles that they could stand on.
What's up next for you?
I’m just writing my own scripts to my visuals like shooting movies. I have plenty of recorded music, and I’m releasing a mixtape called “Goin Krazy" some time this month.
