Mon'ro is an ambitious 34 year old who makes a tough strand of hip hop music. He's a beast on the mic, and steadily continues to drop good, hood music. His last project, a 13 track album entitled, "A Long Time Coming", raised his visibility, and the album included some bangers like Not Da Same where he spits, these n*ggas fake, these n*ggas frail. They get some time, these n*ggas tell. You the type that give it up in the cell." Now he's back with a new 7 song EP entitled, "Rain Against the Window Pane".
This newly released project has a more intimate, sexy, baby-making music vibe; and one song you must hear is Put It Down. On the track, you can almost feel the rain hitting the window glass. And Mon'ro shows he can do more than drop hot bars. "I’m a artist not just a rapper," he explained. In the song, you hear him deliver a heartfelt, seductive vocal performance. His soulful chops feel like a cross between the late Gerald Levert and Rod Wave.
"I'll take you down, right here on this couc. My lips on your body, my thumb in your mouth."
He's from Houston, Texas but says there are 3 other places I also consider home: Orange, TX, Vinton, LA, and Breaux Bridge, LA. When asked about his persona outside of the studio, he said, "I’m a very humble dude … I love to joke and laugh and I love my family." But he's confident his music will continue to raise him up. "I feel like people been sleeping on me," he said, "but I’m definitely about to put a end to that."
